Annabelle’s school has a bulletin board titled “My house” and all the children are asked to bring in a photo of their family to share. It is used both as an opportunity for the kids to public speak while introducing their family and for anytime they feeling wistful for home.
Annabelle started school last January so we asked a kind stranger to snap the first one of us when we were at a country light up place right after Christmas. It was the first picture ever taken of all 5 of us and I loved it. Not professional by any means but the only one I ever had and so special to me.
When Annabelle started school again a few weeks ago I decided to update the photo. After all the kids were bigger, I was smaller (30 lbs!) and the first one was definitely seasonal.
While Nate was certainly not very interested in sitting still while Aunt Karen tried to capture us, it is now my new favorite picture. It’s us. My family.
