I always check on my sleeping children sometime before retiring for the evening myself. What started out as one last assurance they were still breathing has evolved into a few quiet minutes each night to observe them, pray over them, appreciate them. What struck me one day last week was She sleeps like her Dad Sprawled Covers kicked Mouth slightly agape Near edge Flung |
He sleeps like his Mom. Snuggly On stomach Blanket on shoulder Cozy pillow Cocooned |

SO sweet.
I love it.
I check on my babes too.
I like to check on my babies, too, except that Katie's door sounds like the front gate of the haunted house in a 1950s horror movie, so I have to settle for checking her spycam and then listening for her breathing at the door. The crib is next to the door so it mostly works.
oh, and? my kids are opposite sleepers, too! Gracie is rarely, if ever, lying with her head at the right end of the bed, and NEVER under the covers. Katie moves around, but until she wakes up, always keeps her head at the same end, and stays under the covers.
