I am rescinding my previous claim that I will now celebrate “every holiday that comes down the pike” with my children. I detest April fool’s Day. I don’t find practical jokes very practical. Add that to “the clown incident” (when I have had a few too many cocktails I tend to perseverate on this. Not-so-funny clown + not-so practical joke ended with me outside in the rain trying to stop a nonexistent tow truck from taking my car) a few years back my opinion is this day best is spent in bed.
Maybe I will start a tradition in which we will all be off school/work on this day. I do have a little boy now; with my luck he will find it amusing to put a frog in my bed.

I hate practical jokes, too! Frogs in beds are one of the reasons I was grateful to have a girl, too, that is absolutely the kind of thing my husband did as a kid.
