Thursday March 18, 2010.
1. I woke Annabelle up at 7am by singing “Happy Birthday” and opening her blinds to reveal the beautiful sunshine. Her response was “Gak”. Even at 3 she is clearly not a fan of being woken up, just like her Mum.
2. After breakfast I let her open her cards & 1 present, new sunglasses.
3. We were leaving for school and I wanted to get a picture in her birthday outfit. Annabelle wanted a picture on her bike. We compromised.
4. At school they had a birthday party for Annabelle. The teacher reads a few sentences about the year while the child circles the sun signifying 1 revolution. Then she blew out the candle. It was really cool.
5. Annabelle got to lead in a game of Follow the Leader during “gym time” at school. Mostly this consisted of running around, with some spin in a circle dancing with a few kicks followed by falling on the ground. Fun was had by all.
6. After going home for lunch Nana took Annabelle in her room to change clothes while Tom & I moved the trampoline into the yard. I have her initial reaction on video (which I need to download software & figure out how to upload) which was pure happiness. There was much jumping done all afternoon.
7. We took a break from jumping to open more presents on the porch. The day was close to 70 degrees and sunny, beautiful spring weather for March. This is Annabelle opening BEE from Word World. Her latest addition to her Word World Friends Collection.
8. We went out to dinner with Nana, Nate, Aunt Karen & Kurt, Josh & Jeremy and Josh’s new girlfriend Mandy. Unfortunately Tom had to work second shift and felt sad that he missed the festivities. The kids were really well behaved and ate a lot. There was cake & singing. In this picture Annabelle was opening some presents from Aunt Karen, these are her new monkey pajamas.
9. Lastly a picture with her cousins Josh & Jeremy, she was so happy to have both of them there, which is a rarity due to their opposing work/school schedules. Aren’t they just the most handsome guys ever?
We finally left the restaurant about 7:30. Both kids were exhausted so upon arrival home pj’s were donned and straight to bed for both. It was an action packed 13 hour day but we had a lot of fun. The best kind of birthday celebration.
