So last weekend a friend of mine took her son to the arboretum while the daffodils were in bloom and secured some beautiful pictures of him sitting among the flowers. I was sitting on my deck the next afternoon thinking about how nice they were and how I would love to take Annabelle to our conservatory if not for my irrational fear of birds. Seriously, the place gives me an anxiety attack.
As I gazed across the yard I noticed the entryway to our neighboring farm had not been cut for the season and was filled with dandelions. I got Annabelle changed into her yellow sun suit and out we went to attempt to capture my beautiful girl in all natures glory.
Except Annabelle does not like sitting in the grass. “Up” she exclaimed as soon as I put her down. I tried to take a few anyway and she cried, reaching for me, “Up”. Ok, into the house for a blanket, Yay we have a yellow one! (Thanks Aunt Charlotte), as we are going back out Annabelle exclaims “Hat!” OK, on goes the hat. Then we get back out there and there is (of course) a bee nesting in the flowers. Annabelle is obsessed with yelling at bees recently. So between chants of “Go Bee” I was able to grab a couple of pictures. My plan was to give this to the Grandma’s for Mothers Day, now I can’t find a yellow picture frame.
Things are just never easy. This picture sure does make me happy though.
