Even a blind squirrel finds a nut - but usually not the first time they try.

In 2.3 seconds it went like this

It happened

Mom & I exchanged startled looks

We laughed

We both said at the same time “No one is ever going to believe this”

The story. - 2 weeks ago

After being out of town for work too-many-days-in-a-row I decided to take a day and just focus on the kids. We went out because I knew if I stayed home I would do laundry and organize and the kids would want their familiar routine which as of late did not include me. So we went out. We went to a play place where we could run and jump and slide.

Annabelle eyed a kid size miniature golf course. So showed her how to hold the club, how to stand, how to swing and then I let her have at it, fully expecting us to be a par 15 on each hole. Which was fine, we hadn’t played for money.

First shot she hits the ball and we hear the familiar “plink” of the ball falling into the cup. What the hell, a Hole in One? This must be the easiest-course-ever! So I line up take a hit. Par 4. Annabelle says “does this mean I win Mommy?” Yes honey, this means you win.

Follow up to the story. - Yesterday

Nana says to Annabelle. “I would like to buy you a golf set for your birthday so we can play in the yard this spring, would you like that? “

Annabelle replies “I don’t need to learn how to play golf Nana. I already got a Hole-in-One you know”
