Peanuts

Sometime in December, while I was traveling, Aunt Karen was at the house helping out with dinner & bedtime routines. Like any good Aunt will do, she broke the “No TV after dinner” rule when the Peanuts Christmas special was having its annual showing. The kids loved it. Nana bought the DVD the following weekend and I think they watched it 87 times before Christmas. Then they watched Charlie Brown New Year and then Valentine followed again by the purchase of the at home version. They are kind of obsessed.

It’s funny because we had been calling Nate “Linus” for a few months due to his constant companion cozy pillow (and since his birthday the addition of comfy, cozy, train blanket). Now whenever they play “Peanuts” he always wants to be Linus.

The following are the two things they do the most that always make us laugh. Like most things in this blog they will alternately be mortified then appreciate that I am writing down these stories, giving a glimpse into our daily lives. (I hope)

-- In the New Year Special, Charlie Brown has to read War & Peace over the holiday break. Nate has decided this one book in our house is War & Peace. He takes it from Nana’s nightstand daily, props up on the chair to read for a few minutes then lets the book fall and pretends to be asleep just like Charlie Brown.

- They have taken on the roles of Sally and Linus.
Annabelle – There is my Sweet Babboo
Nate – I am NOT your Sweet Babboo!
Annabelle – Isn’t he the cutest thing?
